so i have decided to join the guard this is a part time thing right? weekend warriors! yeah help people out when a disaster strikes! right? so how long would one train for a part time job? will you got 2 months of bct (basic combat training) and then what ever time on top of that it takes them to teach you your little job. so were looking at what 4 months 5 at the very most you would think? will not quite so much for me it seems i have picked a special M.O.S. i decided to join as a18C this is a VERY special on indeed it is a special forces combat engineer. special gets special training and treatment. special is 2 long hard grueling years of the most intense military training the army can through at you. i am never going to look at the word special again the same way, and i am going to LOVE every bit of it even the pain the agony and the shear misery of it. and the only reason i think i can do this is because i had my father as a father and coach king as my running coach in high school. now that was a long time ago and i am now out of shape (i only ran the 2 mile in 13:40 sick) but i am sure that by the time i am done at basic i will be sub 12.... for those of you who ont know the running lingo that is under 12 minutes but my new part time job will be fun and i hope to blow up some awesome stuff on the 4th of July :)
so now i am tasked with getting everything ready for leaving in 3 days. i am far from ready still my room is a dis-heaped heap of belongings... what was once a sorta organized thing now is not! it will be all right though. it looks like i am going to make it though and i just cant wait to have this part out of my way. i am not one who stresses much but last night it hit me hard with what i still had to do.... but im over it now and collected a quick prayer and now all is will i am once again on track to be where i need to be and ready in a few days it is amazing how the lord answers a simple prayer
